Aeroprise, Inc. today announced the release of Aeroprise Mobility for BMC Service Request Management (SRM), a self-service application for the BlackBerry smartphone. Extending self service to mobile employees, who currently comprise 70% of the U.S. workforce, will help companies reduce IT costs, boost service performance and improve customer satisfaction. Aeroprise built the Aeroprise Mobility for BMC SRM app using Rhomobile's Rhodes smartphone app framework, the RhoHub hosted smartphone app development service (rhohub.com) and RhoSync server to synchronize data within the application.
The new Aeroprise app extends key functionality of BMC Software's BMC SRM solution to the BlackBerry smartphone. Aeroprise Mobility for BMC SRM enables business users to submit and track IT service requests. Managers can review and approve team members' requests anywhere, anytime. With Aeroprise Mobility for BMC SRM, the help desk call volume drops, increasing IT support staff productivity and significantly reducing the cost-per-incident to $1 from $24.
"With more than two-thirds of all U.S. business workers considered mobile, it's essential to provide a way for the workforce to submit, track and manage service requests while away from the office," said Dan Turchin, CEO of Aeroprise. "With real-time information and updates enabled by RhoSync, Aeroprise Mobility for BMC SRM offers all of the power of a desktop service on the mobile device, allowing IT to focus on business-critical issues and initiatives."
"BMC's strategic relationship with Aeroprise makes it easy for companies to simplify IT operations, with a quick return on their investment," said Kia Behnia, CTO of BMC. "Mobility enhances the impact dynamic Business Service Management (BSM) has on customers by improving efficiency, increasing service levels and reducing IT costs."
Aeroprise already offers mobility solutions for the entire BMC Remedy IT Service Management (ITSM) Suite, including Service Desk, Change Management and Asset Management.
Rhomobile's RhoSync allows Aeroprise Mobility for BMC SRM users to sync data with the device, allowing users to access and submit information whether or not there is an Internet or cellular connection available – an essential element for enterprise mobility solutions. The app also uses RhoSync's unmatched "push-based sync optimization." RhoSync is the only sync server that takes advantage of the push capability of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) and iPhone 3.0 SDK to deliver near real time data to the device.
"Our smartphone development framework offers the power and capabilities needed for enterprise-class smartphone deployment, while allowing developers to leverage their existing skill set to build powerful native apps," said Adam Blum, CEO of Rhomobile. "And because our sync offering, RhoSync, uses BES and iPhone push technology to optimize synchronization, Aeroprise Mobility for BMC SRM users will always have all data available and current wherever they are."
